By | January 7, 2021

Compliancy Group has confirmed that Warwick, Rhode Island-based Brightside Behavioral Health has implemented an effective HIPAA compliance program.

Brightside Behavioral Health provides high quality behavioral health services to support individuals and families in Rhode Island communities through awareness, education, and the treatment of behavioral health issues.

As a provider of mental health services, Brightside Behavioral Health is required to comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act Rules.  The HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules limit uses and disclosures of protected health information and require all HIPAA-covered entities and business associates to implement safeguards to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of PHI. PHI is any demographic healthcare-related information that can be used to identify a patient.

“We work very hard to provide the best mental healthcare services to our clients and a part of that is to do everything we can to protect our client’s personal healthcare information,” said Brightside Behavioral Health Clinical Director Hallie Fleischman. “Our team at Brightside Behavioral Health considers HIPAA to be a critical best practice. We can only provide the highest quality of healthcare to our clients when implementing and practicing HIPAA guidelines.”

Establishing and maintaining an effective HIPAA compliance program can be a challenge for healthcare providers and their business associates, and many choose to seek assistance from third-party compliance experts to ensure they are fully compliant with all provisions of the HIPAA Rules.

Compliancy Group simplifies HIPAA compliance to allow healthcare professions to confidently run their practice. Compliancy Group has developed a proven, easy to follow HIPAA compliance methodology and clients are able to track their progress toward compliance using Compliancy Group’s compliance tracking software, The Guard.

“Within our organization we strive to provide the highest quality of mental healthcare. We do this by partnering with likeminded mental healthcare providers and by establishing a best practices culture,” said Fleischman. “HIPAA was established to protect personal healthcare information and we take this very seriously. We reached out to Compliancy Group to help us incorporate a best practice, that when followed provides the best security and privacy we can provide to our clients.”

After completing Compliancy Group’s Six Stage Implementation Program and implementing best practices to ensure continued compliance, Compliancy Group awarded Brightside Behavioral Health the HIPAA Seal of Compliance.

The HIPAA Seal of Compliance demonstrates to current and future Brightside Behavioral Health clients that the practice is committed to ensuring the privacy and security of their protected health information and helps the practice differentiate its services.
