Network Six Confirmed as HIPAA Compliant by Compliancy Group

By | April 1, 2022

Network Six, a managed services provider offering information technology & cybersecurity services to businesses throughout New York and New Jersey, has recently undergone a third-party assessment and has been confirmed as having implemented the policies, procedures, and processes to comply with all appropriate provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Rules.

The provision of IT and cybersecurity services to healthcare organizations requires Network Six to have access to systems where HIPAA-regulated data may be stored. As such, Network Six is classed as a business associate under HIPAA and is required to comply with certain provisions of the HIPAA Rules relating to the privacy and security of protected health information.

To ensure compliance with all requirements of the HIPAA Rules, Network Six partnered with Compliancy Group and used its proven HIPAA compliance methodology, and tracked progress along its compliance journey using Compliancy Group’s proprietary software solution – The Guard.

After completing that process, which includes a 6-stage risk analysis and remediation process, Compliancy Group’s HIPAA subject matter experts assessed Network Six’s good faith effort toward HIPAA compliance and confirmed the managed service provider had implemented an effective HIPAA compliance program and was compliant with all appropriate provisions of the HIPAA Privacy Rule, Security Rule, Breach Notification Rule, Omnibus Rule, and HITECH Act.

Compliancy Group clients that pass the assessments are awarded the HIPAA Seal of Compliance. The HIPAA Seal of Compliance demonstrates to current and future clients that a company is committed to privacy and security and has an effective program in place to ensure future compliance.
